I Loose You, Dear One

Among its many definitions, to loose means: to render less firmly fixed; to lessen an attachment.

We heal when we loose someone.

We've heard it in many different ways, haven't we, including songs that encourage us to "set them free" (our loved ones, that is). Situations of contrast help us to learn and grow and as unpleasant as things may be in certain situations, they are nonetheless wonderful opportunities to come to terms with schisms inside ourselves.

When I experience something in my life that has me mired in worry and fear, there lies the perfect opportunity to heal some split part of myself which has temporarily forgotten to trust. In this case, where I am worried about a loved one, I get to choose whether to stay in that condition or to release and trust that he is responsible for creating his own way. And I, by choosing to stop worrying, by allowing God and the Angels to carry that burden from me, reflect my own wholeness through the peace of mind that replaces the fear, and the unconditional love that embodies heart-centered trust.

I LOOSE YOU

I loose you, my love
so that I am set free
And create an opening
for you to do so more easily.

But should you choose
the harder route
I trust you to learn
what your life is about.

Yet when I envision
your future as a man
I know that you surely
are part of God's plan.

May you awaken and see
the divinity inside
And create for yourself
a much smoother ride.

The choice is yours
and it's also mine
So I loose us both
to the arms of the Divine.

I loose you, my love
so that I am set free
And create an opening
for us simply to BE.

An Invitation to Heal

This post comes via my San Francisco firefighter friend Jennie and is a synopsis of the story two posts ago.

On February 5th, 2009 an arsonist set fire to a vacant house by using accelerant. By the time the firefighters arrived, the house was engulfed and filled with heavy, hot smoke. Thick, black smoke issued from the back of the building as the first arriving brave men and women firefighters forced entry.

It always goes from bad to worse way too fast in these situations. A 2nd alarm. Emergency Traffic! 6 firefighters are injured. Two are admitted to the hospital, and 1 is critical.

Chris, the critically injured firefighter, lost his face mask. He suffered severe burns to his face, head, and airway. Vigils were sat and passionate prayers were said by so many. The doctors and nurses at San Francisco General are the best there are. When the body goes into shock, it's up to forces beyond our understanding though.

I tell you honestly and adamantly that no medical professional was encouraging or hopeful about Chris’ prognosis.

I, like everyone else, wanted to do all we could for him. When donations were called for, I decided to spend the money I would have donated, on healings by Maria Benning instead. As I said, these things are beyond our understanding. Doubters will always have room to doubt, but this is the truth.

On February 20th, Maria facilitated the first healing. Almost immediately and from a place of no hope, news came that Chris was regaining consciousness and having some responses with his hands. Amazing! Finally, here was hope.

On February 24th, the second healing was done. Reports kept coming in of improvements. He could see (when he was thought to be blind) and identify pictures on the wall. Next thing we heard, he’d been extubated (the tube was taken out of his throat). Yes, he was breathing on his own! That is a miraculous step. Another update and he was released from SFG, and allowed to go to a hospital near his home in San Jose. He had to have been really stable to be allowed to make a trip like that in an ambulance where there can be all sorts of bacteria.

That certainly was the honest truth because a week later they let him go home! He is resting and recuperating at home, and all indications are that his progress continues and improvements in his health do as well.

Maria facilitated a third session for Chris and all reports are in the same vein: improvement continues!

Your prayers for Chris and all firefighters, paramedics, and police officers are always very much appreciated.

Walk This Way...

I was a presenter at a seminar last weekend called "New Possibilities" and with a name like that, I should have known there'd be some surprises!

One of those was named Reggie. Reggie was "volunteered" to lie on the table for a Reconnective Healing demonstration. As usual, I didn't know anything about her "challenges" but did notice that she walked with a cane...not that I paid any attention to that when I went into the session. What I noticed almost immediately was that something profound was happening behind Reggie's closed eyes.

Since we were butting up against the lunch break and because I could see that this was a deeply personal experience for Reggie, I suggested the group go to lunch and I stayed with Reggie a while longer, encouraging her to go with what was happening and to allow the tears to flow. There wasn't much for me to do except observe because Reggie and Source were clearly in the driver's seat!

A few minutes later when the session was "over" (though the frequencies keep doing their thing!), I went to lunch with Reggie and a couple other seminar participants. It was clear that she was already experiencing improvement in the way she walked and climbed the stairs, and that she was quite overwhelmed by the changes. Reggie was kind enough to tell the seminar attendees what happened when we got back.

Here are some of her own words about what too place that weekend:

When the afternoon events ended, the idea of crowds and dinner and conversation was just too much for me, and I decided to swim. I have not gone swimming since before the car accident. I had the pool to myself, and got in the water and swam and swam and swam. Every stroke I tried worked! I had to adjust my side stroke so the drop foot was on the top, but I was used to doing it on either side. Everything else was perfect. I started with laps and by the time I was ready to stop I had just been circling around and around the pool. I looked at the clock...90 minutes had gone by. I don't know where I found the energy! I floated on the water for a bit and let it support all of me, wash me away in its gentle rocking. I went back up to my room, showered and slept.

When I woke up the next morning, the "old", the "tired", the "clumsy" was gone even before I put my first foot out of bed. I walked out of the room forgetting my cane and truth be told I have not used my cane since...it will be 7 days tomorrow. When I got back in my car after I went home, I took my handicapped sticker and put it in my glove box and I have not used it. Not that I am trying not to, it is just not who I am anymore.

I will post Reggie's full testimonial on my site soon so that you can read about the ordeal she's been through over the last years, but mostly so you can understand just how far she's come in the blink of an eye.

She walked into the seminar one way, and walked out entirely different...a life filled with "new possibilities."

Patron Saint of Firefighters

I have a friend in California who is a firefighter. It's not her passion, but she's doing this very important work and she knows the risks...sees them every day. And if that's not enough, she's married to a policeman, so she sees a great deal, hears the tragic stories, and witnesses them herself.

Recently, a couple of fellow firefighters were injured, and one quite severely. My friend doesn't know him personally, but she purchased a couple healing sessions from me, because that's just how her heart is...big and generous and compassionate. Her greatest ambition is to be a philanthropist.

This morning I woke up to an email she'd written about the miracle of healing. The firefighter has been extubated (is now breathing on his own), can walk and talk again, and has been moved to a hospital closer to home...something my friend called "nothing short of amazing!"

Saint Florian may be the patron saint of firefighters and their families, but my friend in California is as well. Perhaps Saint Florian is guiding her...

Where Have I Been?

It's interesting to realize that I haven't posted to this blog for few months. Has something changed, you may be wondering? Have I stopped doing Reconnective Healing? No way!

Since I moved back to Austin last March, it has been a bit of a challenge to get in the groove without having my own living space and healing room, but I'm thrilled to say that's all changed. I not only have a beautiful new apartment, but a lovely, peaceful healing room where my table is always set up.

As in the movie "Field of Dreams", if you build it they will come...and they are!

I have facilitated quite a number of sessions since moving into my new sanctuary, and the old fire is back! Some days I'm particularly busy and have the good fortune to do several sessions back to back. It's wonderful to watch how unique each session is. Some folks simply lie on the table with eyes closed, looking serene and as if they might be napping. Others get a bit twitchy and give me some interesting things to pay attention to aside from my own hands. Still others move about so much they look as if they are doing an intense workout! Since about 75% of my practice is healing from a distance, it's a real treat to see so many folks in person again. It has reignited my appreciation for the power of the frequencies of this wondrous healing modality.

One of the things I don't get to see with distance work is the faces of people when the session ends and they are overcome with emotion. Invariably, what I hear more often than anything is, "That was wonderful!" And it's often said with tears flowing down their faces.

Gosh! What is there even to say in response to that? I simply give thanks.

If you haven't delved too deeply into Reconnective Healing, perhaps you'll allow me to be a part of your exploration. My site offers lots of information about this modality, along with some wonderful testimonials. Come see what Source has in store for you. Healing happens!

My Irish Friends

I've had the pleasure of speaking with a couple of lovely Irish lads recently, who are thrilled with Reconnective Healing and their experiences with coming into resonance with the frequencies (if this all sounds like New Age blather, please review these definitions to help lessen some of that). I call it being drunk on the Divine, and I think I got a contact high!

I remember what it was like when I first felt these frequencies. It was all I could think about, talk about, do anything about. I know that some of my friends and family would argue that hasn't really changed, but for me it's wonderful to re-experience the excitement through someone else's eyes and to get re-energized about just how marvelous it is to be a part of something so profound.

The first two of the Six Phrases say: We are here to tell you to continue doing what you are doing; What you are doing is bringing Light and Information onto the planet. Certainly my new friends in Ireland understand that and are charged up with the delight of discovering themselves and their connection to the All. Something really is shifting here, with so many people waking up and remembering who they are, and Reconnective Healing is one very powerful way to aide that.

I found this quote online:

"May you always walk in sunshine.
May you never want for more.
May Irish angels rest their wings
right beside your door."

Thank you, my Irish angels, for giving me a new appreciation of the work I do.
